Rahul Advani

Rahul Advani

Director of Flash Products

Rahul Advani has served as Director of Flash Products for PMC’s Enterprise Storage Division since July 2012. Prior to joining PMC, he was director of Enterprise Marketing at Micron Technology, director of Technology Planning at Intel, and a product manager with Silicon Graphics. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and he received his PhD in Engineering and management training from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Stephen Bates

Stephen Bates

Senior Technical Director and NVM Evangelist

Stephen Bates is a Senior Technical Director in the Chief Strategy and Technology Office of PMC. He works on issues related to NAND flash and other Non-Volatile Memory technologies and the implications of those technologies on storage architectures. Before joining PMC, Stephen was an Assistant Professor at The University of Alberta where he conducted research into novel implementations of Error Correction Codes and developed FPGA based accelerators for Bioinformatics problems.

Stephen holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and is a Senior Member of the IEEE.

Dave Berry

Dave Berry

Director of Data Center Strategy

Dave Berry is Director of Data Center Strategy for PMC’s Enterprise Storage Division. He is responsible for Data Center product, technology, and cross-platform initiatives for PMC Storage portfolio including Adaptec RAID and HBA’s, Flash Controllers, Expanders, and System Software. Before joining PMC, Dave was Sr. Strategic Marketing manager for Broadcom Infrastructure and Networking Group focused on Data Center. He has also held Marketing and Engineering positions at Sun Microsystems, Motorola, Solectron/Force Computers, and Concurrent Computers.

Babak Samimi

Vice President of Marketing & Applications

Babak Samimi is the Vice President of Marketing & Applications for PMC’s Communications Business Unit and oversees the company’s Optical Transport products, spanning OTN, FTTH, SONET/SDH and Mobile backhaul portfolio with WinPath network processors. Mr. Samimi joined PMC in 1998.

Edward Sharp

Chief Strategy & Technology Officer

Edward Sharp has served as Chief Strategy and Technology Officer since January 2015. Prior to joining PMC, Mr. Sharp was employed at NetApp from 1998 until 2014, serving in a number of roles of increasing scope and responsibility in their Marketing, Sales and Product organizations; most recently as Vice President of their Emerging Products Group. Before joining NetApp, Mr. Sharp held positions at McKinsey & Company in the United States and the United Kingdom. Mr. Sharp holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BA in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University.

Tom Sun

Vice President and General Manager of BWD

Tom Sun has served as Vice President and General Manager of the Broadband Wireless Division since April 2007. From 2002 until 2007 he served as Vice President of PMC’s Asia Pacific Operations. Prior to that, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Access Products Division. Mr. Sun joined PMC in 1995 as a product line manager for ATM/PDH/HDLC products. Before joining PMC he was Manager for the Image Processing Group at MPR Teltech.

Jeremiah Tussey

Sr. Product Marketing Manager

Jeremiah Tussey is the senior alliance marketing manager for PMC’s Enterprise Storage Division. He supports vendor alliances for 12Gb/s SAS and PCIe-3.0 products and PMC’s involvement in industry events related to PCI-SIG, NVMe, and SAS. Prior to joining PMC in 2012, Jeremiah was a senior hardware applications engineer for SAS products at Maxim Integrated and Vitesse Semiconductor.

Scott Wakelin

Sr. Product Marketing Manager

Scott Wakelin is a Senior Product Marketing Manager in the Communications Business Unit at PMC-Sierra and is responsible for OTN and mobile fronthaul solutions and strategy. Scott has over 15 years of experience delivering innovative semiconductor solutions to the networking industry. Recently, Scott was recognized with PMC’s 2014 “Winner’s Circle” Award for outstanding achievement.

Scott holds a Master of Applied Science degree and is a member of the Marketing Strategy “Special Interest Group” within the Center for Sales and Marketing Strategy at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. Scott joined PMC in 2000.
